Over 600 prisoners escaped after Kuje prison invasion

According to Bashir Magashi, Minister of Defense, 64 Boko Haram suspects have escaped from the Kuje prison raid.

64 prisoners who are being tried for terrorism were among those who escaped from the Kuje Medium Prison during the attack on Tuesday evening, July 5, according to Bashir Magashi, the minister of defense.

Speaking to reporters after touring the facility for assessment, the minister remarked

“The assault began at about 10:30 p.m. We are currently tracking them to see the types of prisoners they have released after they entered the prison in large numbers and released some of prisoners.

“We will tell you the accurate number of seized prisoners very shortly. In addition, we are looking into what we can do to guarantee that all eluded persons are brought back.

Over 600 prisoners have fled from the facility, which has 994 inmates. Many individuals have been recaptured and returned to jail. Maybe more will have been apprehended and brought back by the end of the day.

I believe that everything is in order. From the records, we deduce that those who came to perform this activity are members of a particular organization. Given that we have a sizable number of Boko Haram suspects in custody and are currently unable to find any of them, it seems likely that they are Boko Haram members.
